Honda CR-V 5th gen (RW) P0113: intake air temperature sensor circuit high — causes and fix

A P0113 on the 5th gen CR-V almost always points at the IAT sensor built into the mass airflow housing, not a standalone sensor. The circuit reads implausibly high — the PCM sees an intake temperature that doesn't match reality and flags it before it trusts the reading for fueling.

Start with the wiring at the MAF/IAT connector — a chafed or corroded pin is the most common cause on this platform, more often than the sensor element itself failing. Confirm with live data: intake temp should track ambient closely at cold start and climb with underhood heat soak after the engine's been running.
