CR-V 5th gen 1.5T oil dilution: how bad it really is, and what Honda changed

The 5th gen CR-V's 1.5T shares the Civic's fuel-dilution issue, and early RW models (2017–2019) were the worst of it — short, cold trips let unburned fuel wash past the rings faster than it boils back out.

Honda revised the PCM calibration and cold-start strategy across a few software updates, and later model years run noticeably less dilution. Check the dipstick after a week of short trips before assuming it's fine — smell for fuel, not just level.
