Turbocharger
A turbine-driven forced-induction device that uses exhaust gas energy to compress intake air, letting a smaller engine produce more power.
A turbo's boost pressure is regulated by a wastegate; when the system can't reach its commanded boost target it sets an underboost code like P0299, which can be a leaking hose, a stuck wastegate, or the turbo itself wearing out.
